Drawing from her classical ballet background and love for house music, she has developed a unique progressive house style that sets her apart in the electronic music scene.
Her debut single, "ALIVE," soared to the top of the iTunes Dance Chart, establishing her as a formidable artist. Subsequent releases have also achieved top rankings, solidifying her reputation in the genre. YAMATOMAYA has extensive experience performing in nightclubs across the Kansai region, where her captivating sets have built a dedicated following.
Her talent has led to prestigious opportunities, including regular performances on the main stage of Japan's largest music festival, "MUSIC CIRCUS," where she electrifies crowds year after year.
With her refined skills in DJing and composition, YAMATOMAYA continues to push the boundaries of her craft, leaving a lasting mark on the electronic music landscape.
In 2017, YAMATOMAYA relocated to Tokyo and briefly resided in Singapore while participating in numerous international events. In 2019, she made history as the first Japanese female artist to perform at the ADE After Party in Amsterdam, Netherlands. performance was widely praised by renowned artists, leading to an increas international bookings. That year alone, she performed 16 overseas shows and sec appearances at six major music festivals.
In 2021, she released her single "Forever" through the international label Peak Hour Records. By May 2022, she collaborated with top Dutch DJ Hardwell's label, Revealed Recordings, to release the single "CRAZY WORLD." The song's distinctive official music video gained global attention, and the track reached 18th place on the US Beatport chart.
In 2022, YAMATOMAYA was the only Japanese female DJ to perform in front of 50,000 spectators at the Creamfields festival in Thailand.
In 2023, she graced the main stage at the SIAM Festival, Asia's largest music event, and became the only Asian female DJ to perform at ULTRA EUROPE 2023. She embarked on a European tour, performing at nine festivals across six countries, including Croatia, Italy, Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands, and Albania. Her momentum continued as she made history again by being the only Japanese DJ on the main stage of EDC China 2023. That same year, she was ranked 8th in Asia and 1st in Japan in DJMAG' s official DJane Mag Asia Top 40.
In 2024, YAMATOMAYA returned to ULTRA EUROPE, performing as the only Asian female DJ on the ULTRA stage. She also debuted on the Power Plant stage at the ParookaVille festival in Germany. Additional main stage performances included ULTRA Hong Kong, S20 Festival in Japan, SIAM Festival in Thailand, It's the Ship in Korea, and Music Circus in Fukuoka, Japan. During the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), she was featured as a guest performer at four high-profile parties, including Nicky Romero' s event.
This year, YAMATOMAYA launched her own label, AMO RECORDINGS. The label's debut events, featuring extensive media coverage and international guest artists, were held in Tokyo and Osaka, establishing a strong presence in the music scene.
